The meeting reported the economy forecast in the coming time, operations in the first 6 months and plans in the remaining of the year for the units and departments. Accordingly, in the first half of the year, THACO hits the sales of 53,127 vehicles (28,031 passenger cars and 25,096 commercial vehicles), 54 percent higher than last year, and 44 percent of the set target. By year-end, the company sets to sell 66,873 cars to complete the 2016 target of 120,000 vehicles.

At the conference, Chairman Tran Ba Duong mentioned the important factors to prepare for 2018 integration being increased localization rate; partnership with overseas partners for exports and participation in global value chain. Specifically, the Chairman emphasized the competitiveness of enterprises' sustainable development during integration is the improvement of the management system and the human resource. He indicated that the entire THACO employees should improve their competence and working attitudes towards THACO's aim of becoming an ASEAN-level multi-industry conglomerate.
