During 2016, total car sales of Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association (VAMA) reached 271,833 vehicles, in which THACO had 112,847 vehicles (65,748 passenger cars and 47,099 commercial vehicles), more 40% compared to 2015, taking up to 41.5% of VAMA market shares. With such sales, THACO continues to remain its number 1 in 3 consecutive years throughout the national car market. In 2016, THACO had nearly 65,000 billion VND in its revenue, 41% higher than 2015, contributing nearly 18,000 billion VND to the national budget, up 28% year on year, including 15,600 billion VND to Quang Nam.

Right from the beginning of auto manufacture, THACO has a long-term objective to join in the global value chain, aiming to the leading position in ASEAN. In preparation for 2018, over the recent years, THACO continually invests and cooperates with foreign partners to build Chu Lai - Truong Hai Auto Manufacture and Assembly Complex on an area of nearly 600 hectares, with 12 supporting industry plants, 5 auto assembly plants which is considered the biggest mechanical manufacturing center in Vietnam with the mainstream products being autos and auto parts.

Especially in 2016, THACO has invested in 20,372 billion VND (partners' investment being 10,000 billion VND) to put into operation in 2018: A new car plant with the most advanced laser welding and painting technologies with the capacity of 100,000 vehicles/year; a new truck plant with the capacity of over 100,000 vehicles/year; a new bus plant with the capacity of 5,000 vehicles/year and a 12-16 seat mini bus plant with 10,000 vehicles/year. The company also establishes the clusters of supporting industry plants by combining the national small and medium enterprises and the foreign vehicle part manufacturers to supply products to assembly plants, increasing the localization rate. Accordingly, it carries out the manufacture of agricultural engines and machines to develop Chu Lai into the central multi-purpose mechanical center in line with the approved strategies of auto industry development.

THACO also expanded Chu Lai - Truong Hai port, opened the shipping routes directly from South Korea, Japan, China to Chu Lai in order to decrease the shipping costs; constructed Tam Hiep Urban Area on an area of 265 hectares with full social utilities such as housing, schools, supermarkets to attract employees working in Chu Lai - Truong Hai Auto Machinery Industrial Park in particular and Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in general.

As the only enterprise selling passenger cars and commercial vehicles, THACO's distribution network covers the entire country with 150 agents and showrooms. Especially, apart from autos, THACO also expands its business lines to Real Estate and Agri towards becoming a conglomerate. In particular, the investment in real estate, via Dai Quang Minh Company has made positive impacts on the Real Estate market by investing in urban areas zoned with a long-term vision, excellent architecture, leading quality, dedicated services, and civilized and friendly environment for the habitats.

In 2017, THACO marks its 20 years of establishment and development under the philosophy "Creating the service values via our products and services" and views of point: Business with social responsibilities, Building the Discipline Culture, ... to get ready for the global integration in 2018, continue the mission to be a Vietnam brand bringing pride to the country, values to customers, the society, and Vietnam economy, heading to the leading position within ASEAN.
