2024 has marked a new journey filled with challenges and opportunities for THACO. With strategic vision, continuous innovation, and constant effort, THACO has not only solidifying its position as a leading corporation but also making significant milestones to sustainable development. Let's review THACO’s 10 notable events in 2024.

1. THACO contributes to Quang Nam Province's 2021-2030 planning

On March 16, at the conference announcing the Quang Nam Province's 2021-2030 planning, with a vision to 2050, the provincial leaders presented investment registration certificates for seven industrial projects by THACO, with a total investment of over VND3,940 billion. These projects include: THACO High-end Automotive Glass Plant, Passenger Car Wire Harness Plant, Passenger Car Interior Plant, Passenger Car Seat Plant, Automotive Body Frame Component Plant, Refrigeration Mechanical Plant, and THACO INDUSTRIES R&D Center.

Quang Nam Province also approved investment policy for the Chu Lai port expansion and upgrade project at Tam Hiep port area, with a total capital of nearly VND1,590 billion.

Speaking at the conference, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong stated: As the first enterprise to invest in the Chu Lai open economic zone and play a key role in building success for the zone, after 20 years, THACO has demonstrated our role as a driving force of the province. With today's planning announcement, THACO recognizes our responsibility in continuing to develop projects as planned in automotive, mechanical engineering, supporting industries, pharmaceutical and agro-forestry production, especially the logistics and containerized goods center in Quang Nam, Central Vietnam, and the Central Highlands.

2. Digital transformation breakthrough in automotive production management at THACO Chu Lai

In 2024, THACO AUTO took the lead in applying modern technologies such as MES and SCADA systems in production management, enhancing productivity and ensuring stringent quality control. All factories have effectively implemented the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system, which helps collect, manage, store, and analyze data, while also providing equipment error alerts at each stage to promptly prevent incidents during production.

Notably, THACO Mazda has been a frontrunner in applying digital transformation to production management, successfully deploying and operating the MES (Manufacturing Execution system). With a strong commitment to comprehensive digital transformation, THACO AUTO Production Division plans to upgrade and apply the MES to all factories by 2025.

In addition to applying production technologies, THACO AUTO has also developed and exported sleeper buses and high-end coaches to Autodelta in Philippines which are well-suited to the infrastructure and traffic conditions of this market. The company also exported Kia New Carnival painted bodies and components to India. Its export revenue in 2024 reached $12.6 million.

3. Thaco Trailers joins Intermodal Association of North America and IANA Intermodal Expo 2024

In 2024, THACO INDUSTRIES boosted production and diversified exports, introducing new products to 20 countries worldwide. The corporation has expanded to several new and potential markets, including Denmark, New Zealand, and the UK. The highlight of the year was Thaco Trailers, its trailer subsidiary becoming a member of the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) by meeting criteria for production capacity, product quality, and export revenue to the North American market.

Thaco Trailers also left a strong impression on partners and visitors at the IANA Intermodal Expo 2024 in the U.S. with its first-time showcase of semi-trailers. The company's large production scale and state-of-the-art technology, among the best in Southeast Asia, affirmed the quality of its products and its position as Vietnam's leading semi-trailer manufacturer on the global market.

4. THACO AGRI makes significant strides in cattle farming and production

2024 witnessed remarkable growth for THACO AGRI in cattle farming. The group achieved impressive results in implementing strategies for breeding cattle, semi-grazing beef cattle, and fattening beef cattle combined with fruit tree cultivation (durian, mango, grapefruit), establishing cattle farming enterprises in agricultural complexes across Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

THACO AGRI's total cattle herd grew impressively, reaching over 113,000 heads, including 79,066 breeding cows, across 71 farms. Alongside scale expansion, the agricultural Sub-holding continuously researched and applied advanced breeding techniques from Australia to enhance beef productivity and quality.

Its farming model not only focuses on cattle development but also integrates fruit tree and forest cultivation, creating a sustainable agricultural ecosystem. The application of mechanization and processing feed from crop by-products not only reduces costs but also contributes to environmental protection. The ERP (enterprise resource planning) system optimizes all stages from cattle management, supply chain, to production, ensuring efficient and modern operations.

In addition to its achievements in production and business, THACO AGRI places special emphasis on community development. The expansion of agricultural complexes has created thousands of job opportunities, improving worker livelihoods and boosting local socio-economic development. Aiming for sustainable development, the group is committed to building modern agricultural model that generates high economic value while protecting the environment.

5. THADICO actively joins investment promotion activities domestically and internationally

In 2024, THADICO actively expanded cooperation with potential businesses and investors, updating the latest trends to develop long-term investment strategies, contributing to the local socio-economic landscape and the group’s development. Notable events included: the Trade and Investment Promotion Conference in South Korea, the Investment Promotion Conference in Ben Tre Province, and the Planning Announcement Conference in Binh Duong Province.

Besides boosting investment and trade promotion activities nationwide, in 2024, THADICO continued to invest in and complete different important projects for other THACO’s Sub-holdings, such as industrial parks in Quang Nam and Thai Binh provinces, expanding and upgrading Chu Lai port, completing the Thiso Mall Truong Chinh - Phan Huy Ich, upgrading the THISO complex in Myanmar, and implementing and upgrading various projects for THACO AUTO and THACO AGRI.

6. THISO launches two new F&B brands, developing the “One Destination – Multiple Utilities, Services” model

Continuing to diversify its business activities in line with modern development trends and customer preferences, THISO introduced new F&B models in 2024, including Besoverse Cosmic Cafe and Thiskyhall Café Lounge. These two brands add values to customers and mark a new milestone for THISO in the F&B sector.

In retail, THISO continued to operate the second and third floors of Thiso Mall Truong Chinh – Phan Huy Ich. They also continuously implemented attractive promotional programs during special holidays at the Thiso Malls and Emart hypermarket chain.

7. Chu Lai port operates 50,000-ton berth and hi-tech cranes

In September 2024, Chu Lai Port began operating its second berth, extending 365 meters and increasing the total berth length to 836 meters, capable of accommodating ships up to 50,000 DWT. The port spans 140 hectares, with warehouse and yard systems exceeding 300,000 square meters, capable of storing up to 500,000 tons. Meanwhile, THILOGI also introduced specialized, high-capacity cranes such as the STS and RTG, and opened new maritime routes connecting to the U.S. and Australia. With comprehensive and modern investments, the port’s total throughput in 2024 exceeded 4 million tons, a 35% increase compared to 2023.

2024 also marked a significant milestone, affirming THILOGI's reputation and position as it became a member of several international logistics organizations, including the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), the World Cargo Alliance (WCA), and the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) of the US government.

8. THACO is honored as top 2 Employer of Choice in Manufacturing

On December 5, at the Employer Of Choice 2024 awards ceremony, THACO received three awards for large enterprises, including "Top 2 Employer of Choice in Manufacturing," "Top 3 Employer of Choice by Industry Candidates," and "Top 15 Employer of Choice."

This recognition is a testament to the professional and humane working environment that THACO has built. In 2024, the group organized over 2,300 in-depth training programs designed for each job position. Along with transparent salary and bonus policies and competitive welfare, THACO attracted and recruited nearly 25,000 high-quality staff members across its system.

9. THACO sponsors Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival 2024

To honor cultural and artistic values through cinemas, THACO became a strategic sponsor for the first Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival (HIFF 2024), held from April 6 to 13. THACO supported key construction items at Cine Park Thu Thiem, Saigon Riverside Park, hosted a series of film conferences and seminars at Thiskyhall Convention Center, and provided 80 passenger cars made and distributed by THACO AUTO to transport guests and artists during the event.

Alongside business, THACO consistently emphasizes social responsibility across various fields, with a total expenditure of over VND3,200 billion over 27 years. In 2024 alone, THACO sponsored more than VND 200 billion for different programs such as "Nutrition for Poor and Disabled Children," "Road to Olympia," "For the Needy" Fund, the "Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses" program, the Da Lat Flower Festival 2024, the Vietnamese Youth and Student Football Tournament, and the Vietnamese Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament.

10. THACO Union actively cares for employee well-being

In 2024, THACO organized numerous cultural and sports activities, creating a healthy and engaging environment for employees. Highlights included the "Connecting Strength - Connecting Success" sports festival, celebrations for International Women's Day on March 8 and Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20, the "Technical Initiatives - Improvements" contest, the "Skilled and Creative Labor" movement, and the online contest "THACO - Developing Sustainably with Vietnam."

THACO also hosted donations of clothes and household items for Cambodian and Laotian workers at THACO AGRI's agricultural complexes through its "THACO Love" program. The group also built spacious worker housing areas at THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park and agricultural complexes, improving worker living standards and security, and giving them more motivation in their work.
