THACO President attends 5th anniversary of National Innovation Center
On October 1 in Hanoi, Mr. Pham Van Tai, the THACO President, participated in the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the National Innovation Center (NIC) and the Innovate Vietnam 2024. The event was organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, and Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Head of the Central Economic Commission, were among the notable attendees. Leaders from the National Assembly, various ministries, regional departments, research institutes, universities, corporations, both domestic and international businesses, and international organizations also graced the event.
The ceremony underscored NIC's transformative journey, emphasizing its core values of "Aspiration - Pioneering - Breakthrough." Over the past five years, NIC has played a pivotal role in boosting the national innovation ecosystem. The center has established 10 Vietnamese innovation networks in 20 countries and territories, comprising over 2,000 experts and intellectuals. It has also grown more than 1,000 startups and facilitated connections among over 1,500 innovative and startup businesses.
The NIC has also taken significant initiatives in semiconductor workforce development, fostering partnerships with industry giants such as Qorvo, ARM, Marvell, Cadence, Synopsys, Nvidia, and Siemens. The center has become the main coordinator for the Semiconductor Workforce Development Program, aiming to cultivate talent by 2030 and extending its vision to 2050, receiving approval from the Prime Minister.
In his address at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the government's commitment to science, technology, and innovation as main strategies for sustainable development. He declared October 1 as the National Innovation Day, a move aiming to celebrate and stimulate innovation nationwide.
During the ceremony, on behalf of THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong, THACO President Pham Van Tai was honored with a medal from Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, recognizing his significant contributions to Vietnam's planning and investment sector.
Aligning with the NIC's mission, THACO is set to take part in advancing high-tech sectors, fostering innovative startups, and driving digital transformation. The corporation underscores its commitment to partnering with the Vietnamese government to foster a sustainable and prosperous future rooted in science, technology, and innovation.
During the Innovate Vietnam 2024, scheduled from October 1 to 2, THACO INDUSTRIES highlighted its cutting-edge automation solutions for production and commercial services, including assistant robots, food delivery robots, material transport robots, and robotic arms. The company also brought to the event their home-made car components and parts, alongside machined parts, aluminum casting components, and premium interior components.
