During their visit, the delegation received a presentation on THACO and THACO Chu Lai's development history. They gained insights into the company's production and business areas, followed by a tour of the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Port & Logistics Industrial Park.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress made since THACO and UTH signed a cooperation agreement in June 2022. This agreement covers areas like training, recruitment, scientific research, technology transfer, and equipment sponsorship. Looking ahead to 2024, the two parties identified key areas for collaboration in joint research projects. Specifically, THACO will send experts to advise UTH researchers, and receive and implement UTH's research findings in their production and business operations.
The discussions between THACO and UTH representatives delved into the specific need for scientific research and collaboration in several key areas: Automotive and Auto Mechanics, Logistics and Shipping Economics. THACO identified their technological needs and proposed research topics and product development projects for joint collaboration with UTH.
The demand for qualified logistics professionals to support THACO's expanding operations was a key focus area. To bridge this gap, both parties agreed on a collaboration plan, in which THACO will provide internship opportunities, participate in UTH seminars and career fairs, and support student thesis defenses, and prioritize recruiting post-graduate students. UTH will contribute by offering short-term training programs for THACO's existing workforce in critical logistics areas like supply chain management and international relations. Additionally, UTH will connect THACO with qualified logistics job candidates and post-graduate students, ensuring a strong talent pipeline for the company's future.

UTH leaders took the initiative to propose the establishment of a THACO Research and Training Center within the university. Once operational, it would address several critical areas: upskilling THACO's workforce, fueling advancements in science, technology, and practical applications, hosting conferences, seminars, and workshops, or conducting experiments and test-produce products. Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, UTH Principal, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong, requested THACO's partnership in developing a detailed plan. Their shared vision is to establish the center as a national leader in training, research, and technology transfer, particularly in mechanics, automobiles, automation, and logistics, aligning perfectly with THACO's long-term development strategy in the new period.
