THACO champions 33rd Female Student Academic Empowering scholarship
The Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Newspaper held the 33rd Female Student Academic Empowering Scholarship for the 2024-2025 school year on August 24. THACO was a sponsor of the program.
The Female Student Academic Empowering scholarship is an annual initiative organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper. It is designed to benefit the children of women's union members and female workers facing challenging circumstances within the city. The scholarship aims to help lift the burdens of these families and inspire their children to pursue their education.
This year, the Women's Newspaper awarded 310 scholarships valued at a total of nearly VND720 million, with each scholarship ranging from VND2-10 million. These scholarships were granted to female secondary school, high school, university, and college students residing in Thoi Lai district (Can Tho City), Thanh An and An Thoi Dong island communes (Can Gio District), and Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Van Anh, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper said: “Many female students who have received these scholarships have grown up, had stable jobs, and made valuable contributions to society. The constant support of the units and sponsors has been instrumental in their success. I hope to see more female students to receive the scholarships, enabling them to overcome challenges and transform their lives through education.”
Sharing about the program, Mr. Nguyen Mot, THACO Corporate Culture and Communications Senior Director said: “I really appreciate the Female Student Academic Empowering scholarship initiated by the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper.
