Recognizing the importance of a skilled workforce, many leading companies are investing in the business school model. THACO College exemplifies this success story. For nearly 15 years, the college has provided a pipeline of qualified talent not only for THACO's diverse operations but also for businesses throughout the Central Vietnam region.

Corporate college - an effective training model

THACO understands that a skilled workforce is the foundation of a company's success and long-term growth. Recognizing this, the company established THACO College in Chu Lai alongside their large-scale production facilities in 2010. The College serves 2 purposes: firstly, it trains students in formal occupations at various levels, providing a pipeline of qualified talent for THACO and other businesses in the region. Secondly, it offers training programs to enhance the management skills, soft skills, and professional knowledge of THACO's existing employees.

THACO College operates under the motto "Students Graduate with Jobs and Ready to Work." Its training programs closely aligned with real-world industry practices. Practical classes make up a significant portion (70%) of the curriculum. A key advantage of being a corporate school is the opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience at THACO facilities. Under the guidance of skilled professionals, students can hone their skills in factories, showrooms, service centers, farms, and ranches. Internships are integrated throughout the program, occurring not just at the end of a course but also periodically every 2-3 months. This approach ensures students graduate with the practical knowledge and skills employers seek. It also allows the college to continually refine its curriculum based on industry needs.

In addition to building a scientific training program, the school also focuses on evaluating learning outcomes. Mr. Phan Tiem, the school's principal school said: "THACO College understands that assessments are essential for ensuring graduates are job-ready and meet the high standards of employers. This commitment to quality strengthens the college's reputation and affirms the effectiveness of teaching. The process is carried out with great care. From crafting exam questions to administering and grading tests, everything is conducted fairly and methodically."

THACO College lecturers have access to cutting-edge machinery and equipment, allowing them to continuously refine their skills and integrate best practices into their teaching. Each year, instructors embark on one-to-two month field trips, working alongside THACO units domestically and internationally, allowing faculties to gain a deeper understanding of industry needs, ensuring their curriculum remains highly relevant and practical.

Meeting the development requirements of THACO and the labor market

From 2010 to 2023, THACO College has enrolled over 11,100 students, with nearly 6,000 graduates successfully entering the workforce. The college's impact extends beyond its students. The college has provided professional training to THACO's new management team, soft skills development programs, and occupational safety training to 154,300 employees. This commitment to comprehensive training ensures THACO has the human resources it needs to achieve its multi-industry goals and empowers businesses throughout the region.

THACO College boasts an over 95% of its graduates securing positions within THACO itself.  Nearly all graduates find employment shortly after graduation. Surveys sent to employers after six months reveal that graduates are highly adaptable and quickly master their jobs. They are praised for their discipline, innovative thinking, creativity, and industrial work ethic.  These qualities are valued not only at THACO, but also at businesses throughout the region, where many THACO College graduates have risen to junior and mid-level management positions.

THACO, along with many businesses in Central Vietnam, is increasing its demand for qualified personnel. In 2024 alone, the company anticipates recruiting nearly 15,000 new employees, with the agricultural sector leading the charge at over 85% (approximately 12,600 employees). To meet this challenge, THACO College is undergoing a comprehensive transformation. This includes upgrades to human resources, financial resources, material resources, and most importantly, training programs.

THACO College is expanding new branches in the agricultural sector specializing in industrial farming, animal husbandry, accounting, and veterinary medicine. The college is also forging partnerships with mountainous districts from Quang Tri to Dak Nong to recruit and train ethnic minorities for agricultural jobs. This initiative will not only address the labor shortage but also create valuable employment opportunities for these communities. In parallel, the school is boosting enrollment and training in mechanical and welding occupations to support the development of mechanics and supporting industries at THACO Chu Lai.

To provide a well-rounded and high-quality education, THACO has strategically partnered with nearly 50 training institutions across Vietnam. Additionally, they are actively fostering connections with international establishments in Japan, Taiwan, Cambodia, and Laos. Recently, THACO College signed an agreement with Toprank Company in Japan. This partnership focuses on cutting-edge automotive technology training, ensuring students graduate with the skills needed to excel as technicians in THACO's service centers and dealerships.

THACO College cultivates a new generation of industrial talent for THACO, ensuring they possess the technical skills and leadership qualities to drive the company's sustainable growth. At the same time, the college acts as a training center of skilled labor, contributing to the development of the job market in Quang Nam province and the entire Central region.
