THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong is named VCCI's Top 10 Vietnamese Entrepreneur 2022
On Oct. 12, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong was honored as one of the Top 10 Vietnamese Entrepreneurs at the Vietnam Confederation of Industry and Commerce (VCCI) ceremony to celebrate Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day and honor excellent Vietnamese entrepreneurs in 2022.
Attending the event were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh, together with leaders of ministries, central agencies and more than 200 business representatives from all economic fields throughout the country.
At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of VCCI Pham Tan Cong awarded the title of "Vietnamese Entrepreneur 2022" to 60 entrepreneurs who are leading businesses in all economic sectors, large to small and medium enterprises. In total, in 2021, their businesses acquired revenues of over VND1.2 million billion, equities of over VND722 trillion, submitted nearly VND148 trillion to the state budget, and earned after-tax profits of over VND70 trillion and had over 251,000 employees.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged the great efforts and contributions of the business community both in building and developing the country's economy and in joining hands to combat against the recent Covid-19 pandemic. The Prime Minister also stated the difficulties and challenges as well as the goals and missions in the coming period. By doing so, the national leader gave instructions and stressed that Vietnamese businessmen should pay attention to building business ethics and culture towards nurturing dedicated and talented entrepreneurs with strong nationalism.
On behalf of the awarded entrepreneurs, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong shared his gratitude for the attention and encouragement and honor of entrepreneurs during the postpandemic business recovery as what that the PM had directed in August: “Every business and entrepreneur will be a strong and fearless economic warrior to accompany the State to win the fight against the pandemic and to develop sustainably”.
He also shared, “We strongly agree with the national strategy to develop nationalist entrepreneurs in the vision of 2030 - 2045. The most profound foundation is based on 6 principles of the VCCI to which I am committed to adhering to these principles. By doing so, we will focus on developing industries in line with the State's general economic development orientation, and will keep on doing it despite difficulties."
According to VCCI leaders, in 2022, the award program had comprehensive changes in terms of content, nomination methods and criteria to honor Vietnamese outstanding entrepreneurs who are talented, ethical, exemplary, nationalist and oriented to sustainable development. This was also the first year that its 6 business principles were used as the award criteria, which include delivering economic values for society; law compliance; transparency, fairness, integrity; creativity, cooperation, mutual development; protecting nature and environment; patriotism and responsibility to society and families. |
