THACO AUTO launches 2022 Kia Carnival SUV and new-generation KIA models

THACO AUTO, THACO's automotive subsidiary on Oct. 9 held a launching ceremony for the all-new Kia Carnival SUV and next-generation KIA models. The event also went online at Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and KIA Motors Asia Pacific offices.

At the program, THACO AUTO officially launched the next-generation KIA models, including Kia Sonet, Kia K5 and Kia Carnival. In particular, the 2022 Kia Carnival is an urban SUV with versatility, comfort and luxury as well as all-terrain operations. The model belongs to KIA's next-generation cars, featuring outstanding dimensions, big ground clearance, powerful engine, sporty and modern design.

In Vietnam, the 2022 Kia Carnival comes in 5 versions: the Luxury; the 7-seat Premium; the 8-seat Premium; the 7-seat Signature with 2.2 diesel engine; the 7-seat Signature with 3.5 gasoline engine and 7 colors. THACO AUTO also develops Carnival Royal version with many advanced options to meet each customer requirements.

THACO AUTO also introduced KIA's next-generation models to launch next year, including the all-new Kia Sorento - a 7-seater SUV equipped with a hybrid engine; Kia Sportage - a completely new C-SUV equipped with a hybrid engine; Kia Telluride - a full-sized SUV; and Kia EV6 - KIA's first battery electric vehicle (BEV), reflecting the Korean automaker's determination to shift to electric automotive products.

In 2020, KIA has made a comprehensive change when it set out the strategy "PLAN S" (Shift) to turn the brand into a symbol of innovation which leads the auto industry and changed its vision to become a smart mobility provider from a car manufacturer. 

In this new strategy, KIA changed its name from KIA Motors Corporation to KIA Corporation, altered its old slogan "The power to surprise" with "Movement that inspires", announced a completely new brand identity, in which the new KIA logo with continuous black-and-white waterway which denotes continuity to bring higher values. In particular, with the new design philosophy - OPPOSITES UNITED, the harmony between opposing and contrasting elements to create a perfect whole, KIA has made the next-generation products based on the 3 core elements Different, Original and Unique. 

"KIA is entering a new era with comprehensive changes in strategy, philosophy, core values, brand identity and new product generations," said Ted Lee, President of KIA Asia Pacific. He highly appreciated THACO's commitment to the partnership and its efforts to provide quality products to the Vietnamese market, and was confident that the two sides would continue to achieve bigger success in near future.
