At the press conference in Chu Lai, Mazda Southeast Asia's CEO Susumu NiiNai confirmed: THACO Mazda is the most modern Mazda plant in Southeast Asia with a capacity of 100,000 vehicles per year. Resembling Mazda plants in Hiroshima (Japan) and Thailand, THACO Mazda Factory offers similar standards and criteria for product quality evaluation as per Mazda’s global production system.

On such grounds, THACO and Madza arranged for the media to evaluate the Mazda CX-5 produced at THACO Mazda and the Japan-based Hiroshima plant under the static and dynamic evaluation methods. Experts and journalists examined the exterior and interior details of the vehicle and did the test drive on the proving grounds to measure its performance.

Also at the program, Mr Minoru Takata, Mazda's Product Development Director, introduced three new premium colors, Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray and Snowflake White Pearl, which have applied Wet on Wet painting technology at the new paint booth of THACO Mazda plant - one of the few Mazda plants in the world that owns this paint technique.

The special feature of these premium colors is that light is reflected from every angle of the car whether it is moving or standing still. Wet on Wet technology uses concentrated paint to provide more shiny and firmer surfaces which are more resistant to scratches and smudges.
